I’ve been following your story for quite some time and I can’t wait to read the next chapter. I think it will be a year since the last update in a few months. I’m hoping you’re still going to continue writing this fanfic? I have the Dokuga page saved as a tab on my phone that I keep checking to make sure that I don’t miss any updates! Will you be finishing Second Alliance on this website and not Dokuga or fanfiction.net? So I know to keep a closer eye on this page instead of those.

Thanks you so much for being a truly amazing author.

    Renoir

Thank you so much for releasing another chapter! I’ve been telling my friends about it and one of them even remembered me talking about it when I first started reading it a few years ago. I decided to read it over again because that’s what I usually do with my favorite books. I found myself lost all over again in the story and staying up late reading as much as I could before sleep came. I was pleasantly surprised and ecstatic when I got a notification that a new chapter was released. I thought it was a coincidence that I commented a little before your chapter released and I never imagined that you would see and reply to my comment since I know that life is busy sometimes but I just want to say thank you. Thank you for continuing and thank you for writing your stories.

Renoir, I can’t thank you enough for your comment in July of this year. Your enthusiasm for Second Alliance urged me to get back to it and start writing again. It is readers like you that are responsible for the final chapter being posted today. Please know, I wouldn’t have done it without you.

      • Renoir says:

Thank you for such a heartfelt response. I never thought a favorite author of mine would be possible to contact and get a response from. You are such a great writer and I will not forget how your words continue to move me. The best thing about a story is getting lost in it and you do that for me. This means a lot that you’ve acknowledged me as a fan and I’m really grateful that you have continued your writing. I can’t wait to see what other creative endeavors you have in store for us. Please keep on writing and remember there are people out there who look for your name when searching for more to read and get lost in.

        Your fan,
        Renoir

Wonderful work Imani! I’m still keeping up and these last chapters have been great! The recent one left a smile on my face. Thank you for taking the time and care to continuing this story.

    Thank you again!
    Your fan,
    Renoir

Absolutely adore Second Alliance! I enjoyed your other works as well, although this one remains my favorite. I look forward to your next update! Authors like you give me life (especially when forced to endure mediocre moments and survive through daydreaming)!

    Cheers!

While I think it was a fantastic story, I think Kagome was a bit OOC. For reasons I will explain. One, Kagome was very short tempered in this story. In the anime she has a short temper, but she is also a child. This is a couple years after and I would think she would have matured out of her short temper. Two, there is several instances where Kagome is having one sided sexual interactions w/ Sesshomaru. I would think that she is very selfless and would feel guilty about him getting her off but being in pain. Overall it’s a great story. There’s ONE thing I cannot stand reading or seeing and that’s cheating. The way you portrayed the otter Youkai made me nervous at first but when she hit on Kagome as well the tension was effectively diffused. I thoroughly enjoyed most of this story, with only a few nitpicks throughout the story.

Hi Susan! I’ve really enjoyed reading this story on AO3 and came here in search of the epilogue! So excited to read it. I also tried to download the PDF but it seems the link is broken. Would you be able to fix it?

    Thanks!

    • Suzanne Brodine says:

Thanks, I am so glad you have enjoyed it! And thank you too for letting me know about the pdf issue; it has been repaired and is available now. Happy reading!

  13. Megan says:

    Hello Imani/Susan!

Firstly, thank you so very much for Second Alliance! It has been on my SessKag ‘to-read’ list for so long and I have finally had the chance to start it! I am currently about half way through and absolutely loving it. Your characterisation is superb and I just know this is going to be one of those stories that stays with me for years afterwards. You are extremely talented and a truly wonderful writer! I had just finished a most disappointing SessKag fic prior to finally picking up Second Alliance, and this could not be a better remedy! It’s just wonderful, so THANK YOU!

Has anyone else mentioned to you about an 404 error message appearing when trying to download the PDF version of Second Alliance? I am having some issues but it could just be me.

Could I ask, is the version of SA on Ao3, the same reworked version that is currently on Dokuga?

Thank you again so much for your hard work. I am very interested in checking out some of your original works too!

    🙂

    Megan

    • Suzanne Brodine says:

Thank you for your comments, Megan! I did get the pdf version corrected, so that is now available. I appreciate you letting me know about it. The Ao3 version is slightly newer than Dokuga, and may have some minor changes or additions that are not in the Dokuga version, but overall the story content remains the same. Thank you again for reading!

  15. Cathy Cerdhe says:

Oh my heavens! This story was extraordinary! Totally read it twice thru when we were under quarantine! Loved the epilogue! Hope you finish Base Instinct: Reverse the Curse because that one made me laugh so hard! Thank you for your creativity!!

  16. leandracol says:

I’ve been reading fanfiction for a long time now, and this happens to be one of the most well-written and beautifully crafted stories that I’ve had the pleasure of coming across. I am so sad that I’m done with it, but I’m happy to have read it. I love the ending and how it seals things up with a little bow! Thank you for loving your writing and the source material. Your world building and crafting of scenes (fighting, intimate moments, inner turmoils) was great and the crescendo of events reached its peak beautifully! Everything was well thought out and given great care. I just can’t stop gushing about it!

  17. Wendy says:

I very much enjoyed your writing in this story. I downloaded your story North Sea Dawn on Amazon just now. Excited to read it! Keep doin you!!

  18. says:

I just binge read Second Alliance, I could not thank you enough for giving life to this unique vision of sesskag relationship, your attention to detail is amazing, I’ve read so many of these sesskag fics but I never read one that had such care with the scent description, I absolutely loved it. It has just the right amount of sexual content, political plot and romance. Your attentiveness to the time travel situation and the implications got me off guard too, usually almost no one worries about it. Your portrayal of Kagome and Sesshomaru is just perfect. When I got to the war part I was just so tense reading it, I forgot how easy it is to get involved when the story is that good. The end got me giggling and all fluffy, I loved it so much. It’s just as good as Tales From the House of the Moon and Moonlight meets Midnight, definitely one of my favorites. Thank you so much for writing it, I will never forget it.

  19. LunaMay says:

I am not exaggerating when I say that I have read approximately 1000 Inuyasha fanfictions. And this one is my ultimate favorite. The 400K long story doesn’t feel that long at all. Once you start reading it, it’s impossible to stop. Sleeping and eating be damned. How much would I love it if there was another Sesshoumaru & Kagome fanfiction like this or one with Inunotaisho & Kagome. You are an incredible writer. I genuinely admire your talent. And If you have any short stories or one-shots lying around on your pc, please do not hesitate to share them. We would appreciate every single word from you.
